Splish Splash

We spent the morning with Madison, Leila and Eli at the splash park.  It was a good time but the water was FREEZING!!
Wading his way to the sprayers.

Eli laughing as the water tried to "get him".

Snack break and warming up in the towels and sunshine.  Madison also told me how much she loves the sunshine!

If you twist the elephant head it sprays water out if it's trunk.

Aunt Sam and Sassypants Leila.

First Race!!

Friday night, the Ladies Auxiliary hosted a 5k along with a 1 mile run for the kids.  Seamus knew about the race and saw me organizing everything for days.  After naptime, he asked to wear his race shirt and told me he was going to a race and was going to go SUPER fast!
Well, 7:15 was race time and all of the kids were lined up.  They rang the cowbell and Seamus stood on the track and watched all the other kids take off! He watched them for a few seconds and then he started after them....and ran the entire mile! He was so proud of himself and couldn't stop telling anyone that would listen that he "runned a race FAST!!"

Children's Museum

Doing a little shopping.
Today was another fun day with our friends.  We are going to be so sad to see them head home.  We visited the Children's Museum in Cleveland today.  I took a wrong turn heading there and turned around just before Rainbow's front entrance.  I said to myself, but out loud, that's where your stomach got fixed.  To which Seamus pulled up his shirt and told me his tummy was okay.  Never realized we have never mentioned the surgery to him and that he doesn't even realize he has a scar on his tummy.  We finally made it to the museum, after Seamus told me where to go looking through his "binoculars."
Andy the Sheriff working the register.

Dressed up in his policeman outfit.
This photo was from yesterday.  Seamus REALLY wanted his bike out of the garage. So I got it out and started pushing him around and showing him how to peddle.  After one trip down the driveway, he told me "Mom! I just want to sit on it, not go!"

Another Day with Great Friends

Today we hung out with the Davis kids once again.  We headed down to the Science Center and checked out Marine Week.  The kids had a great time at the Science Center. It is nice to have Seamus around a few older kids and still one his age.  He seems to be more willing to try new stuff and gets a little more daring.  By the time we were getting ready to leave the Science Center, I think he and Maddie (also 3) were so overstimulated they were just walking in circles. LOL
Cleveland is hosting Marine Week this year.  It is a great free event that showcases the Marines and all that they do for our country.  They had music playing, tents with different activities and military vehicles for the kids to climb in.  We walked down to a nice shady spot and got our own private view of a helicopter being loaded with paratroopers and then got to watch it take off.  A female Marine walked over to us to tell us that they would be jumping  near where we were and to stick around to watch them land.  Claire looked like a super star had just talked to her.  Even little kids know that there is something special about a person in uniform.
Our afternoon ended in front of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, where a band of Marines were playing in a band.  The kids danced there way to the parking garage.

A Day at the River

Today we went to Helen Hazen Wyman Park, one of our favorites.  We met our friendsAndy, Claire and Maddie.  It was fantastic because we had the ENTIRE park to ourselves for most of the time we were there.  The kids thought that was super cool.  Before playing in the river, a mail truck pulled in and the mailwoman let the kids climb around in the truck.  I;m not sure who enjoyed that more, the kids or the mailwoman! She was waving and beeping as she drove away.  After that the kids headed to the river for some exploring.  A great start to our summer.  Next up, the Science Center with the same friends.  Seamus is going to be super bummed when they head back to Atlanta at the end of the week.

We joke that these two will be married some day.  Claire still loves "her boy."
Somehow Andy managed to stay out of the camera's view all day! lol
