Getting Ready (but waaaaay different than Amanda's ready!!)
We helped Kyle decorate the barn for Geauga fair tonight, which starts next weekend. Kyle is determined to win the decoration award that he has been trying for for 3 years. We got it looking good because our own DJ Mooseman had the tunes cranking the entire time. Every time he found a song playing he would turn the volume way up and yell "DANCE PARTY!!!" Who wouldn't be motivated by that?!
Hitch and Kittens
Today we decided it was a great day to take the top of the Jeep and go for a cruise. We ended up heading to Rome and visiting our friends Laurie, Kyle and Jeff at their feed mill. To Seamus's luck, they had four kittens running around. They all survived the encounter with Seamus, however there were a few "choke hold" moments. Seamus quickly learned that it is not nice to pick a kitten up by it's head!

This kitty came to be known as Alfred. He was the only one that received a name. |
After the mill closed, we went to their house for lunch and Seamus got to see his good buddy, Hitch. Hitch is always looking for attention and who better to give it than a animal loving 3 year old. These two tromped around the yard for a good hour. It was very hot and Hitch wanted to be laying on the garage floor, but every time Seamus made a movement or noise, Hitch was immediately by his side.

Seamus wanted a "face picture" of his friend. |

Shortly after taking this picture, Seamus put his hands over Hitch's eyes and told us the dog was sleeping. LOL Hitch is a VERY patient dog! |

Tractor Time
Seamus was a very lucky boy today and got to ride the big tractor with Grandpa. They had to take some posts out back and then drove around the yard a bit. Seamus had to tell Grandpa when a tree was coming at them. Fairly certain all of the neighbors also heard when a tree was coming!

Last Day of the Fair
Today was the last day of the fair and Seamus was such a good boy all week long! He put in some long days with some heavy duty playing with all of his new buddies. Today, we watched his friend Carter in a horse show. Carter is 2 and had the very difficult job of sitting on his aunt's horse while she lead him around the arena. Then we went to the dog tent to say good bye to all of the dogs we met this week. We were in there so many times to pet the dogs that many of the ladies began to know Seamus! Nana and Papa were gracious enough to take a cranky and crying little boy home to feed his dog and relax for the evening. When I got home, he was fed and bathed and running around as if he had napped all day! We shall see how tomorrow goes once we break the news to him that the fair is all done. Good thing Mike McDonald called today for us to come see some baby piglets....Seamus might think the fair just moved to a new location!

Just like Dad
Saturday night at the fair is the big horse show that takes ALLLLLLLL night to work. Seamus was very excited to see the horses run and help the his dad and uncles set stuff up (mainly he was excited to hold the tape measure for them and ride in the tractor). He got his cowboy duds on, ate a big snack of Fruit Loops and then headed up to help at the ring.

Dog tent
Seamus got to show his friend, Christian, all of the highlights of fair on Friday morning. He took him straight to the dog tent. He told Christian that you are allowed to pet all of the dogs as long as you ask first. This was Lola and quickly became their favorite to pet. I think they became her favorites too!

Milkshake!!!
So the upside to having a picky eater is he doesn't bug us for fair food all day long. He is quite happy with the lunches and snacks that I pack from home. But the boy can't resist a delicious milkshake from the Junior Fairboard Booth. He has tried chocolate and pumpkin so far. Both were great and he is excited to try a banana one today. On a side note, a friend had purchased him a lime slushy and a small bag of Cheetos during the swine show....she was then disgusted watching Seamus dunk the Cheetos into the green slushy and chowing down. Picky eater but still adventurous.

4-H Cup
I'm not real sure what the face was in the first photo, but he was doing it on purpose and laughing after I would take his photo. He loved his new green cup that we received on the first day of the fair. He has been having so much fun and all he has seen is the livestock building and the camper.....not even sure if he knows there is any more to the fair!

Seamus and Leila have so much fun together....now if only Seamus could remember her name all of the time! |
Amanda and the kids came down for McKee's wedding this weekend. It was cold and windy and rainy....perfect for an outdoor reception! Seamus couldn't wait to see his cousins. It always warms your heart to seem them instantly start playing as if they see each other all of the time. The only problem is Seamus can never seem to remember the girls' names!

Starting Young
Monday night we had to head up to the fairgrounds to start preparing for the fair. It always begins with fixing the fence and putting new stickers of sponsors on. It is the worst job of all. Seamus did a great job helping Uncle Ryan and an even better job watching Aunt Jamie!

Found: Giant Ball
We went outside the other day and saw this giant ball in our backyard. Seamus knew instantly that our neighbor, Sue, must have tossed it in the yard for him. He knew it was for him because the ones she gets for TJ are little. Pretty good deducing. He kicked it around for a little bit and then rolled it down the slide for a good 30 minutes.

Pancakes!!
These two were so excited to get delicious pancakes at Perkins this morning. There is endless entertainment when Carson and Seamus are together!
Brand new kid
It had been a whole 5 weeks since Seamus's last haircut. His hair was literally blowing in the wind Tuesday night, so in we went yesterday. Every time he gets his hair cut, he goes from looking like a little boy to a big kid.
